Beach Talk - Review spam

#1: Review spam

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. Someone (or several someones) has started posting anonymous reviews consisting of nothing more than spam links. If you are one of those someones, here is a little tip for you. NOBODY WILL EVER SEE YOUR LINK! Content added to the site is not visible to anyone other than the poster (and not to them if they are anonymous) until it has been checked and activated by a site administrator. All you do by putting spam links out there is waste your time and mine, and it only takes me a second to flag a dozen reviews and delete them with the click of a mouse. So, Mr. IP 58.22.101.123 in Fujian province China, I hope you enjoyed your typing practice.

The system is setup to allow anonymous users to post some content on the site, but all new content must go through a check process. This site will not be allowed to deteriorate into a spam farm, so if your posting either in the content area or discussion board looks spammy it will go away. If the anonymous contributions end up being nothing but spam, I can turn them back off and make everyone create an account to post content.
