Beach Talk - New account admin activation now required

I hated to have to do it, but I'm not requiring admin activation for any new accounts created. Over the last few weeks I've seen a huge upswing in spamming in the discussion areas. It appears someone has come up with a way of automating account creation, activation, and message posting processes so the whole run can be made in a few seconds. To that end, I'm now checking all new accounts before activating them.

If all you put in is a user id and an e-mail address I'm probably going to delete the account. If you put in a few details which make you look like a real person, then I'll activate your account. Of course, if you then go and use that account for spamming I promise it and all of your messages will be deleted immediately.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I refuse to let this site turn into a spam hosting farm.
