Hawaii

The island of Hawaii, also known as the Big Island, is larger than all of the other Hawaiian islands put together. It is also the youngest of the islands with still erupting volcanoes. Hawaii can have stark contrasts from skiing on the side of a volcano, to cattle ranching in the countryside, to warm sandy beaches. Be ready for beaches more rugged than you will see on the other islands. With this being the youngest of the islands the landscape hasn’t had time to wear down as much. You will often see a sandy beach giving way to sharp edged cliffs.

This location is also known as Big Island, Comté de Hawaii (French), Comté dHawaï (French), Condado de Hawái (Spanish), Condado de Hawaii (Portuguese), Contea di Hawaii (Italian), Hawaii County (English), Гавайи (Russian), ハワイ郡 (Japanese), and 夏威夷縣 (Chinese).
