Although this stretch of coast is less sophisticated than most other beaches, it can still be fun to explore. A long stretch of coast with many secrets. Bathing conditions can be very dangerous so be careful. Mnadi beach (Blue FlagBlue Flag), Strandfontein (Blue FlagBlue Flag), and Monwabisi (meaning bringing joy inisiXhosa) is very popular with the locals from the less affluent residents of Mitchell's Plain, Strandfontein and the township of Khayelitsha. In the area, you will find the biggest tidal pool in the southern hemisphere. The tidal pool was constructed in the 1980's and is undergoing upgrading.
