Clifton, with wite sands and turquoise water, is South Africa's premier beach and made up of four beaches, called 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Cliftons beaches is divided by gigantic boulders that fell off Table Mountain many centuries ago. On low tide, one can walk from forth to first beach. Forth beach is very popular and has attained blue flag status. Being one of the most fashionable beaches on the planet, do not be surprised when you see the latest designer swimwear and sunglasses walk past with the afterthought of .... mmm, haven't I seen her somewhere before? Beautiful people and Stars from all around the world come here to see and be seen.

Facilities:

* Easy Access with narrow stairs leading from the road above. No access to the disabled
* Parking is limited so come early, be prepared to walk
* Forth beach has a Kiosk that sells refreshments and vendors walk the beach
* Beach chairs and umbrellas are also available (although expensive to rent)

Beach activities:

* Surfing at Clifton (✪✪): First Beach offers a fickle right hand sand point, works best after a late winter storm. At Second Beach you can surf of Cherry Rock (small round rock) and Third Beach seldom breaks of a fickle sandbar.
* Sunbathing at Clifton (✪✪✪✪✪): Protected from the wind making it an excellent spot for working on that tan
* Swimming at Clifton (✪✪✪):Dipping in the icy water is an exhilarating experience not to be missed.Various swimming competitions are held here anally.
* Other: Various environmental programmes and life savving training run during summer
